Goodreads Description:

A Life No One Will Remember. A Story You Will Never Forget.

France, 1714: in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.

Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world.

But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.

Be careful for what you wish for should’ve been the tagline for Addie LaRue. It follows a girl that sold her soul to the devil and the repercussions of that deal had a lasting impact for centuries to come. This novel had a very original storyline and probably should fall in the fantasy genre. It was a long book and easy to put down, but I enjoyed it. If you were a fan of Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife, you will love this book.

Holly says: πŸ€“πŸ€“πŸ€“3/4

There is something about this book that I really liked – it is historical, ethereal, romantic, and magical – in the lightest and darkest of ways. This is not a light read as much of the book does involve a deal with the devil, and that is dark indeed. A little reminiscent of The Time Traveler’s Wife, but a beautifully written story. I recommend it.
