Here’s what we are digging this month….

I love this time of year because the movies are gearing up for awards season. I recently went to a sneak preview of Alexander Payne’s new film, The Holdovers. It was everything I wanted and more- very satisfying coming of age story of two misfits together (begrudgingly) for the holidays. Click here if you would like a link to the trailer. I am also excited to watch All the Light We Cannot See and Nyad on Netflix. I remember seeing Diana Nyad being interviewed on the Today Show after she completed her swim from Cuba to Florida. Her face was grossly swollen from jelly fish stings and I was amazed by how funny she was! You would think she would be so serious given her drive and task at hand, but in fact she was very self depricating and comical. Good Lord- That is some determination!

I love Thanksgiving! One of my favorite holidays – the food, the family, the football, the crisp nip in the air (hopefully!); and post-meal, the laziness of it all while hanging out with family and friends – it just can’t be beat! Maybe I will even enjoy a good jigsaw puzzle. I am also enjoying watching “Lessons in Chemistry” – I am looking forward to this week’s Friday release! Like Helen, I am also very excited for “All the Light We Cannot See”. And my guilty pleasure is “The Voice” – I admit I record and watch so I can skip the commercials and any other parts that do not keep me entertained. One of the contestants is Ms. Monet who sang back up for Boz Scaggs and whom I have seen in several concerts. I love her! she is the oldest contestant on the show, and I am rooting for her! Go Ms. Monet!
